PortoDuring this tour, you will get to know Oporto´s typical neighbourhoods, streets and main attractions and visit the historical centre in the company of our guide. The visit starts at Oporto´s Cathedral (Sé). Here began the expansion of the city in the 12th Century. You may contemplate a unique view of the Douro river upon the D. Luís Bridge and glimpse the Rabelo boats lined up along the pier. The tour continues through the downtown of Porto, an area that has undergone a remarkable transformation in the past years. You´ll then continue along the Avenida dos Aliados, where you will have the opportunity to visit the São Bento Trainstation and get to hear about the historical events portrayed in the magnificent tiles displayed on its walls. Next, we will make a stop at the Carmo and Carmelitas Churches, Praça dos Leões and at the acclaimed Clerigos Tower (Torre dos Clérigos). See Lello´s Bookstore on the exterior. Continue to the Boavista area and see the famous Casa da Musica, designed by Rem Koolhas (photo stop). Continue down the Avenida da Boavista until Foz do Douro and see the Castelo do Queijo, photostop at the Passeio Alegre Gardens and head off to the Ribeira, where you will have the opportunity to see the Stock Exchange Palace, Praça do Cubo and St Francisco Church.
